If you are thinking about beginning therapy, I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. Below, you can read more about the services I offer in my practice. I also encourage you to explore the Areas of Focus section of my website to learn more about my work with key concerns.

Who is Therapy For?

Well...everybody! I know that traditionally there are some people who haven't felt welcome or seen in therapy spaces and I'd like to change that in my personal practice. A short list of folks that I welcome include: people who use drugs or alcohol, LGBTQ+ people, sex workers who are sick of "rescuers", poly folks, BIPOC, and anyone who has been taught that their story is too hard, too big or too much. It isn't, and you deserve positive and affirming support.

Individual Therapy

I believe that we are each the experts on our own lives. As a therapist, I strive to guide you in reconnecting with your own wisdom and intuition. It is easy to lose this thread and begin to feel helpless or stuck as life circumstances become overwhelming.  I believe that individual therapy can be a powerful tool in helping you reclaim the power you hold over your life journey and provide healing space to process painful feelings and experiences so that you can feel more clear and confident.

Couples Therapy

Couples seek therapy for a variety of reasons-- it may be that you have reached a critical point in your relationship and are feeling hopeless or stuck, or you may be looking to improve communication or negotiate a difficult life decision. In therapy, we will focus on rebuilding or strengthening the foundation of your relationship and examine patterns of communication and behavior that may be getting in the way of connecting the way you would like to. Couples therapy may also be beneficial to those who are interested in changing or expanding their partnership to include non-monogamy or polyamory and would like assistance negotiating new boundaries or related concerns.

Child and Adolescent Therapy

There are many reasons children may benefit from extra support through therapy. Many parents worry that seeking therapy for their child means they have somehow missed the mark as a parent, and nothing could be further from the truth. Recognizing that your child would benefit from therapy is not a negative reflection on your parenting, and I am committed to working with you to insure your child gets the safety and support they need. I have experience in helping children negotiate a variety of difficult life experiences, including an ill or absent parent, divorce, bullying and social anxiety. With young children, I believe that play and art can be powerful and useful languages for communication. Older children and adolescents will find our time together to be free of judgment and my focus is on insuring that they know what they have to say is important and will be respected.
